Parallax- Chapter 7

John sees a woman in an underground hatch, motioning for them to come.

hey guys this way *gets the group and goes over*

"Come, it's not safe here anymore," the woman said, closing the hatch and leading them down a long tunnel, dirt falling from the ceiling with each explosion on the surface.

"Great..."

A group of heavily armed Fronzoks ran down the tunnel, opening a hatch and running out.

"Looks like the ground fighting is almost started..." Sayoko said, checking her AA-370.

"What's going on now?"

"Now the ground battle starts, and we try to defend the planet from the Aveon, and buy ourselves enough time to set up the anti-orbital cannons and try to destroy, or at least fend off, the Aveon fleet, so we can at least evacuate the planet..." Sayoko said, peeking out the hatch, seeing the bombardment trickle to a stop, "Here they come..."

"Great... Just great..."

A transport swooped down, firing during approach, killing half the Fronoks just outside the hatch. A mass of short, slender black creatures jumpped down, followed by a large, muscular creature with a long stinger-like tail.

"Interceptors and a Hunter..." Sayoko whispered.

Sergio stared out of the hatch at these new enemies for a few seconds.
"What's that tail on the big one for?"

"To suck the life from it's victims..." she said, staring...

Sergio cringed a little. "Is there a weak spot or something on it?"

"Back of the neck..."

"Okay, good to know. So should we... you know, attack, or stick around down here a while?"

"Wait... For now..." she said, watching the Fronzoks fight to the death. One being impaled by the Hunter's tail while the others were blown apart by it's plasma rifle...

Sergio stared some more, and felt glad he purchased better armor before the shops closed

"We need to get out of here..." she said, slowly backing away, closing the hatch, then sprinting down the tunnel.

Sergio quickly followed her, loading his weapons in case of a fight along the way

"Oh no..." Sayoko moaned, slowing down. The tunnel had caved in, they had to backtrack to the hatch again...

"SONUVA...!"

There was a pause to the plasma fire nearby, then the hatch blew open. Interceptors swarmed into the tunnels.

"FFFF!" Grabbing his Assault Rifle and firing multiple bursts into some of the interceptors

Shali grinned, and smiled a Sergio. "Mind if I play with some grenades?"

Some of them died, but the others just climbed over the bodies, firing plasma pistols all the while.

Sayoko put her AA-370 to her hip and swept over the remaining Interceptors, sucking down a clip...

"I think it'll be time in a minute, Shali" as he reloaded
