Parallax- Day 4- Civilian

Nick shook his head. "No, how do you expect me..." he started, and looked back at the half asleep Shali. "...us to fight some whack job we know nothing about, for some promise of credit you might not even have?" Nick asked. "If he's as psycho as you, seeing as you tried to fill me full of holes and then fry me, we're in trouble."

"Do you want reinforcements or something? That's probably a good idea though... I'll call some people, and if you REALLY want, I'll pay in advance, but try and run, and I'll have your head..."

Shali frowned. "I better be allowed to blow him up."

"I said KILL didn't I? And if I pay you now, you CAN'T walk away on me, got it?"

"Meh. I wont, I like to kill things."

"Once the people that owe me a favor or two show, we'll go find him, alright?"

"No no...not yet." Nick said, shaking his head, not completely sure. "How bout this?" Nick started. "Half now, half later. And, if any time during the fight I think he's too strong, say people die horrifically, I bail, and you don't come after me." He suggested, while putting away the knife and bomb. He walked over to the hole in the wall, and found his pistol.

"How about I take your head off and call it a day?"

"Could I help you do that?"

"Huh?"

"If you kill him, can I help?"

"Sure, take the first shot if ya want, I'll finish him if you don't..."

"How about, ya all go screw yourself than." Nick said beginning to walk off. "I see no reason to help a bounty lister and some psycho, while risking my life, to kill for all I know is some general or president. You're keeping info, so I know he's more important than just 'some guy'." Nick said. "My deal stands like it was, or at least make me a better offer than: 'March for me and die!', toots." Nick said.

Shali grinned, and aimed her blaster over his shoulder. "I'm bored."

A Firefox flew up and dropped of a group of marines.

"Alright, you better have good reason for us to be coming out here Zoil..."

"Seriously..." Nick said, sanding at the hole in the wall, waiting for Zoil's response.

"Remember that Quaran guy?"

"Ah hell, he's still alive?"

"Apparently... And I'm on the Bounties list too!"

Nick stood there, pondering. "Is this even worth it?" He asked himself. "Why are freakin marines helping this chick?"

"What the FUCK is going on here?"

"Who are these two?" one asked.

"Bounty hunters apparently... And for the right price, will do a lot. Right guys?"

"I like to kill things. Being paid to is just a bonus."

"'...for the right price', were the key words." Nick said. "And no, I'm not a bounty hunter. Bunch of pussies. I'm a mercenary. Maybe, we've met." Nick said to the marines.

"Unless you were that one Mobile Suit that got away, I doubt we've met..."

"Where's that Keenly girl?" Zoil asked.

"Don't know. I wasn't able to get her..."

"So...what are we doing?" Nick asked.

"WHAT!?" Came from one of their radios.

"Keenly? Uhh... Zoil wanted you to come help with something, because you owe her. Something about that Quaran guy..."

There was a pause. Sounds of gunfire and explosions in the back, "Well, A; I'm a little busy! B; WHAT THE HELL DO I OWE HER!?"
